Northeast Regional Council Matchmaker Conference

Killington, Vermont

June 2-4

 

bulletMonday, June 2.  Nationally Recognized SBLO Training.  8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.  Certificates were awarded upon completion of the class.  The class is designed to train new SBLOs as well as to offer a refresher course to those who now act in a SBLO capacity. 
bulletMonday, June 2.  Round Table Discussion for Veteran Owned and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses.  They got to meet with the Veteran's Administration Center for Business Enterprise, their PTAC Programs, the Small Business Development Center, the Small Business Administration and other representatives from federal agencies and federal prime contractors to discuss the challenges and solutions of pursuing government business as a prime contractor or subcontractor.

June 2.  1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.  Doing Business with Government and Government's prime contractors.  This is a special training class for small businesses.

June 2.  5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  Networking Reception with federal prime contractors and government agencies.

June 3.  8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  The opportunity to meet with federal prime contractors and government agencies in a structured format of 10 minute sessions.  Detailed information was provided in advance so that participants can plan their sessions.   See how to do a matchmaker.

Also present were government small business assistance programs, namely the US Small Business Administration, the VT Small Business Development Center, and Procurement Technical Assistance Centers from the New England States and New York.

June 3.  8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  All day breakout were available to Small Businesses with regard to small business assistance.  Staff from the VT Small Business Assistance Center will run this program.

bulletTuesday, June 3.  Vermont Night.  5:30 PM until 10:00 PM.  Vermont hosted a reception in the evening, open only to federal prime contractors and government agencies.         
bulletWednesday, June 4.  Northeast Regional Council Meeting.  9:00 - Noon.  Participants heard about the latest developments with regard to small businesses and government contracting.
